Hello and Welcome to Katie’s Test Kitchen!
My name is Katie Le. I’m Vietnamese, a wife and Mom to 2 boys, ages 6 and 7. I was born in Vietnam but came with my family to the US when I was 10 years old. A lot of my greatest childhood memories are of different foods that I made/enjoyed with my Mom and Grandma in Vietnam. I love Vietnamese food more than anything and my small goal in life is to introduce Vietnamese cuisine to my kids.
I understand the challenges of being a working Mom with regard to making home cooked meals for the family after work. In this day and age we all struggle with not having enough time in the kitchen (whether we are a stay-at-home Parent or a working Parent) to make food that traditionally take our Mom/Grandma hours or days to prepare. Thank goodness modern technology has developed a pressure cooker called an Instant Pot (IP)! Broth that needed to be simmered overnight can now be done in minutes. I am a self-declared “pothead” (Instant Pot lover) since 2017. With my passion for the IP and my love for Vietnamese food, I strive to transform and adapt traditional recipes into something that are much easier to follow and take a lot less time to make without sacrificing flavor or authenticity. I also love the Air Fryer so I will share tips and ideas on how to quickly prepare meals with it as well.
Thank you for visiting and I hope you’ll find this blog useful. I’m a one-woman shop so any comments/advice/feedback you can provide I’d appreciated it. You can follow my Facebook page @ Katie’s Test Kitchen and on IG @Katiestestkitchen for more updates and tips! I’m also a member of an awesome closed group on Facebook called “Instant Pot Vietnamese Recipes“. Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any questions. Happy Cooking!
